Our commitments

More than a simple company commitment, Chocolaterie Galler is embarking on a profound transformation of its business model.

As we, you want to go further ? Read our Corporate Responsibility Report

To exemplify an entrepreneurial approach based on converging interests within the world of chocolate, in order to build a fairer, more sustainable world. Today, that’s the core mission of our chocolaterie.

This model is based on 3 pillars: People, Planet, Profitability.

People: the well-being of all stakeholders

People: the well-being of all stakeholders

People: the well-being of all stakeholders

We want to contribute to the well-being of all our stakeholders: our clients, our teams, our suppliers, our partners, our shareholders…

In particular through our Fairtrade label , a means to improve the living and working conditions of cocoa producers. In 2020 alone, Galler will pull approximately 5,000 people out of extreme poverty.

This also translates into the implementation of a more collaborative work-model within our chocolaterie. A less hierarchical organisation, where everyone has the opportunity to be heard, to engage and work in a positive and inclusive workspace.

Planet: reducing our environmental footprint, acting for the planet

Planet: reducing our environmental footprint, acting for the planet

In addition to a 5-year plan to reduce its environmental footprint, Galler has embarked on an ambitious agroforestry project in Côte d’Ivoire.

The “People, Planet & Cocoa” project aims to provide concrete solutions to the ecological and societal problems created by the single-crop cocoa cultures. In particular, it includes planting more than
50,000 trees.

In order to achieve this, Galler can count on the expertise of a number of partners:

  • the Agronomy Department at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech
  • the Fairtrade organisation
  • the No Nonsense Marketing agency, specialised in the coaching of cooperatives
  • Yeyasso, the cooperative operating on the land where the project will take place

Thanks to a systematic approach, this project will not only allow for the creation of new carbon sinks, but will also foster the return of local biodiversity and the diversification of revenue sources for the local populations.

Profitability: releasing the financial means to complete our projects

170 families from Liège directly depend on Chocolaterie Galler.

It is imperative that we sustain our company for them and to ensure the means necessary to complete our projects.

That’s why we are working hard to consolidate our financial security.
